Activists who reject the science supporting vaccinations held a march and rally today in Washington, D.C., labeled the Revolution for Truth.
The morning march drew a crowd of about 50 people outside the White House on Friday morning.
The rally, which was originally planned to organize on Capitol Hill, reconvened at a hotel near the White House due to inclement weather. About 200 “awakened” vaccine advocates attended the rally, including members of anti-vaccine and anti-GMO organizations like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.‘s World Mercury Project, March Against Monsanto, A Voice for Choice, and several other parent-led organizations.
The rally included remarks from familiar anti-vaccine individuals, including Barbara Loe Fisher, president of the National Vaccine Information Center, Del Bigtree, the producer of Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe, and Tony Muhammad, of the Nation of Islam.
RFK Jr. gave a speech in which he accused the government, drug companies, and media of covering up the alleged link between vaccines and autism. Kennedy did not mention the possible commission on vaccine safety, which he was reportedly asked by President Donald Trump to lead prior to Trump’s inauguration.
The only mainstream media reporter covering the day’s events was Rebecca Robins of STAT News. Robbins live tweeted during the rally and continues to be a strong advocate for the science behind vaccines.
