National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM). This annual observance highlights the importance of getting recommended vaccines throughout your life. You have the power to protect yourself and your family against serious diseases – like measles, whooping cough, cancers caused by HPV, and many more – with vaccines.

During NIAM, Vaccinate Your Family encourages you talk to your healthcare provider to ensure everyone in your family is up-to-date on recommended vaccines.

During NIAM, Vaccinate Your Family will be sharing information and resources on social media to highlight the importance of vaccines. Help us spread the word! Follow the conversation on Facebook (@Vaccinateyourfamily), Twitter (@Vaxyourfam) and Instagram (@Vaccinateyourfamily), and use #ivax2protect to share why you choose to vaccinate.

NIAM graphics for use on social media are available on CDC’s website.
