Chief Communication Officer
Erica is Chief Communication Officer of Vaccinate Your Family. She has led the organization’s efforts at both the state and federal level to educate legislators, media, and the public about the value of vaccines.
Erica specializes in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to advance infectious disease issues. She has worked to build a national network of vaccine advocates to remind the public of the importance of timely immunizations, assisting with the development, launch and promotion of national campaigns including VYF’s Vaccinate Your Baby and Vaccinate Your Family campaigns. She also co-chaired the workgroup on patient education for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit during its first two years.
Most recently, Erica has supported VYF’s efforts to ensure equitable access to vaccines. She has participated in the COVID Collaborative, Made to Save coalition, HHS’ Vaccine Community Corps, as well as contributed to the Ad Council’s “It’s Up to You” campaign. Erica leads ongoing initiatives to maintain the momentum of these partnerships into the need for routine immunizations, including through VYF’s Vaccination Collaborative and VYF’s partnership with NCNW on Good Health WINs (Women’s Immunization Networks).
Prior to her joining VYF, Erica was the principal of a science communications firm, Coffeehouse Communications LLC. She also was a director at APCO Worldwide, a public affairs firm, where she spent over a decade providing strategic counsel to clients concerning alliance development and issue management. She managed a variety of national public affairs and corporate communication campaigns. Erica’s past work also includes both government and nonprofit organizations in the areas of education and domestic abuse.
She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in communication, specializing in public relations.
