Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter and former First Lady of Arkansas Betty Bumpers helped to create the vision for today’s vaccine infrastructure that provides immunizations to every corner of our nation, including the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
Vaccinate Your Family also spearheaded efforts ensuring the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program staff reviews the vaccination records of children they serve. Half of the children born in the U.S. each year, and their mothers, utilize WIC services. For the past two decades, Vaccinate Your Family has continued educating WIC staff and participants about the value of timely vaccinations. WIC staff have now connected nearly seven million children and pregnant people with vaccination information and services as a result of this critical partnership.
The COVID-19 pandemic response demonstrated something many of us already knew: community partners are key to building vaccine confidence. Community-based organizations, community health workers, and individual advocates are often underfunded for their efforts if they are paid at all. Yet those are the trusted voices that many turn to when trying to decide whether to vaccinate themselves or their families.
Vaccinate Your Family’s signature programs and platforms have reached millions of people in recent years. In 2022 alone we have:
