Advocacy and Education Intern
Katrina Fernandez is Vaccinate Your Family’s Advocacy and Education Intern. Her dedication lies in maternal vaccinations, expanding access to reproductive healthcare, and fostering lactation education and support.
In her experience as a Public Health Intern at Fertility Within Reach, Katrina provided comprehensive, accessible, and up-to-date information on fertility preservation for adolescent oncology and transgender patients. Moreover, she has cultivated strategic partnerships to negotiate preferential pricing for fertility preservation and infertility treatments. Presently, they are seeking certification as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing maternal, infant, and reproductive health.
She is pursuing her master’s in public health with a concentration in Maternal, Child, and Family Health. Prior to attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she attended the University of Central Florida to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences.
